Eanes Bond 2023

Since the passage of the Texas bill SB30 in 2019, which mandated dividing school bonds into specific categories and requiring fairly misleading ballot language on property taxes, many school bonds have failed across the state. Additionally, with the Texas recapture program, only $0.36 of every tax dollar you pay for Eanes schools stays here in the district. The rest is clawed back to a state general fund. 100% of bond dollars stay in our district, allowing more of our district funds to pay teachers and staff. Passing school bonds protects our schools and supports our children’s education.

Prop A – $117.773 Million – Safety, Maintenance & Efficiency – Protect Our Children

The vast majority of the bond is in Prop A and is allocated towards new safety and security upgrades, repairs and energy efficiency measures at all of our campuses. The safety of our children is of utmost priority, especially during these frightening times. This bond component is imperative to pass and will save Eanes an estimated $2.9 million annually.

Prop B – $2.411 Million – Refurbish stadium facilities

This is needed for repairs and upgrades to our stadium, many of which are UIL requirements. Aside from hosting many of our children’s variety of sports events, Eanes welcomes organizations/groups to rent their facilities. These events generate over $500,000 annually for the district. That money is revenue that is not subject to recapture and goes directly to our school’s budget.

Prop C$11.245 MillionUpgrade/replacement of staff and student digital devices

Nothing proved how well Eanes was able to handle the pandemic than the fact that all of our children and teachers were able to immediately go online and continue their education when schools closed down. Keeping our equipment up to date is critical.

Keep our dollars local

Eanes has sent over $1 billion back to the state general fund due to its recapture policy. 100% of bond dollars stay in the district and are not subject to recapture.

Despite misleading ballot language required by Texas law since 2019:

  1. This bond will not raise property taxes.
  2. The district will NOT be raising the debt service tax rate for this bond.
